Carla is one of the Great Dane Club of Mid-Florida’s distant members, though hopefully not for long! She currently resides in Indianapolis, Indiana with her 6.5-year-old Great Dane, Amphora, and is also a member of the Hoosier Great Dane Club. Carla and Amphora plan to move to Florida in the future, either as part-time snowbirds or full-time residents. Carla credits her ex-husband and his love of “the biggest and best of everything” for her introduction to the breed in 1973 and upon parting ways, Carla kept the Great Danes. With Amphora by her side, the team does home checks of prospective adopters for the local Great Dane rescue as well as participating in organized group walks. After her other Great Dane made the trip over the rainbow bridge last year, Carla is looking to add a new furry family member and hopes to get started in conformation.
